Valley loop

A mix of road and non-traffic routes, terrain is mostly smooth and the standard road surfaces. This will take in the Sirhowy Valley (route 47), take the back roads to Ystrad Mynach, then head onto Route 4 past Trethomas, Machen, Draethen, down into Basseleg. Then it's just a flat section through Risca back to the start! It will be a fairly steady pace, get the heart rate going and have some fun on the open roads. There is a couple of cheeky climbs, but nothing too strenuous. Please ensure you have a bike road ready, a helmet, spares and lights (it may just be getting dark on the way back in!
