This rides starts from Uxbridge Station (Metropolitan Line). There is step-free access and it can be reached from a number of stations in Harrow. Harrow-on-the-Hill station also has step-free access and a direct connection.
Optional rides from and back to Harrow are available. These will add about 8 miles each way. We leave the Civic Centre at 08:45 to connect with the group at Uxbridge.
This ride is for experienced cyclist. It has some challenging climbs and stretches of busy road. We will also make use of trails, cycle paths, the river bank and quiet residential roads.
On our way out, we will pass through Iver, Fulwood, Burnham Beeches, Dorney and Eton Wick. We'll stop for refreshments at the cyclist friendly Cinnamon Cafe. The shorter second part takes us through Datchet and Langley.
Please check you bike before the ride and bring a spare innertube, tools to repair a puncture, water and a snack (or money to purchase one). Make sure you check your bike before the ride. Don't leave it until the morning of the ride as it may be too late to remedy any issues.
The time for the ride is a best estimate by the Ride Leader. Sometimes this can be affected by factors such as the weather, mechanical issues, the queue at the cafe, etc. We have a policy of leaving no rider behind so, if anyone is struggling, we will adjust the speed and take rest stops if necessary. However, you need to be confident that you can complete the distance and maintain a pace of 8-10 mph.
