Upton Towcester 25m loop

This is a leisurely social ride, aiming for 11-12mph. We will aim to stay together as a group for the whole ride, and ride at the pace of the slowest rider.

Please make sure you are ready to leave on time, especially the leader!

The route takes us through Kislingbury, Gayton, Dalscote, Cold Higham, Greens Norton, Towcester, Tiffield and Rothersthorpe.

I last did this ride a couple of years ago and cannot remember the approach to Towcester. The gpx seems to take us through a park, but we might find it easier to stay on the road. I do remember Watling Street in Towcester was busy and we will cross the A43 using the pelican crossing, which I recall is adapted for horse riders. North of this, we ride on the cycle path alongside Watling Street.

We will stop at the Bell Plantation Garden Centre at Towcester for refreshments.

Currently the weather forecast looks reasonable with a southerly wind which should be in our face on the way out, but behind us when we return.
**
Please bring a helmet and remember to put it on (compulsory), spare tube and pump, and money for a drink.
