Up the trail to Pontypridd

We’ll ride out of Hailey Park and follow the cycle path along Ty Mawr Rd and the river to Forest Farm Rd for a short stretch of quiet road. Back on the trail to Tongwynlais where we have a short stretch of road which can be quite busy- this is the last stretch of traffic we meet. We rejoin the trail to Taffs Well and then along the gentle incline to Pontypridd. after leaving the Taff Trail, we ride through Ynysangharad Patk and cross the river to the coffee stop.
We’ll retrace our steps home along the same route.

A lovely ride along the Taff Trail. Mostly on traffic free trails, with gentle inclines. We’ll stop for coffee in the Gatto Lounge overlooking the river Taff in Pontypridd. We meet in the car park of Hailey Park, Llandaff North. The car park has plenty of spaces and is near Llandaf station for those arriving by train. No public toilets at the start.

Most of the route is traffic free. After a small section of quiet road near the start of the ride, the bulk of the ride follows the Taff Trail to Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd, where we will stop for coffee.

We’ll stop for coffee at the Gatto Lounge in Pontypridd, overlooking the river. Please note no cash payments are accepted. Please also bring a lock for your bike.

Please make sure you’re wearing a helmet, and have a bike lock and are able to pay for coffee, if required.
