This route is circular from the Cycle hub Newcastle Quayside out over the Millennium Bridge to the Gateshead side via Bill Quay farm and Jarrow on cycle route 14. We will cross the Tyne using the pedestrian/ cycle tunnel and join cycle route 72 to take us back to the hub via Wallsend.

The route is mainly cycle paths and designated cycle routes with a short section of a bit over a mile on roads to link to the tunnel. We have few inclines nothing major but we are in no hurry and we always wait for everyone. you will gain confidence in riding your bike in a safe, encouraging and friendly group, and get some gentle exercise in the fresh air.

We have no planned cafe stop during the ride but we do have a loo stop and a planned break when we get under the Tyne. Do bring something with you to keep you going. The Cycle hub will be open on our return for lunch

Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride and bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the valve type too!) and/or a puncture repair kit. The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike or a puncture repair kit! Whilst we welcome any bike type, we have zero knowledge of e-bikes, so if you are riding an e-bike, please come prepared to independently sort out any mechanicals that you may have. Helmets are not mandatory, but are strongly advised. If the weather is poor, we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding. If you book on this ride and then find you have to cancel, please do so as soon as you can so that your place is available to someone else. Please bring a drink and something to keep you going as we have no planned cafe stop during the ride.

We never leave anyone behind
