Join Kirsty and I this Friday evening on our Hairy Coo Hunting expedition to find the one and only hairy coo in the Blairgowrie area. We'll head out through Kinclaven towards the Beech Hedges, but will bypass the busy A93 and take a detour through Meikleour Estate and into Meikleour. There is a very short stony/gravelly section in the estate so you can dismount if you prefer. From Meikleour we'll take the back roads into Blairgowrie through farmland and berryfield areas. This means we can avoid cycling along the A93 and A94 which can be busy. We'll arrive in Blairgowrie along Welton Road, past Tesco and into the Wellmeadow park where the coo is "hiding".
After "bagging" the hairy coo, taking photos etc, we have a short section on the main road to the traffic lights, turn along Emma Street, past the High School and out by Essendy, Kirkton of Lethendy, Spittalfield, Caputh and back into Murthly. The staff at Uisge are expecting us so if you fancy a hot chocolate or snack to celebrate it would be great if you could join us.
