Starting point

London
SW15 3PF

This is the anti-clock lap of Richmond Park starting at Robin Hood Gate on the flat.

Will use the 12km road loop of the park which is open to motor vehicles but one of sections only cyclist walkers and deer can use.

The main junctions & roundabouts are gate entrances, and we mainly turn left in the anti-clockwise loop of the park.

This is one loop with no stops.

Route notes:
From Robin Hood the first roundabout is Roehampton gate where we turn left towards Sheen along pass the rugby pitches going straight over towards the first climb of Sawyers Hill at 10%. The next roundabout is just before Richmond gate which we turn left towards Pembroke Lodge this is the busy section where cars are cutting through the park to miss Petersham Road {max speed of 20mph for all vehicles }. Along some up and down sections pass the car park and Ham Gate towards Kingston Gate where we turn left again.
Once pass the Kingston gate car park we climb up towards Ladderstile gate.
Then another straight flat section to Broomfield Hill where at the car park the route is blocked to motor vehicles which allows cyclist a traffic free roll down the hill to Robin Hood gate. Careful on the downhill bend as deer like to stand in the middle of the road. Once passed the roundabout at Robin Hood gate the loop is complete but we carry on for a pit stop at the Pen Ponds Café {if still open} this is the quietest of the refreshments areas. Finally roll down pass Martin’s Pond to Robin Hood gate where the public toilets are located and the end.

The ride is approx 15 km in total with a total ride time of approx 1 hour.

All public roads, some with traffic, traffic free section, no off road/gravel.

Helmets as always are advisable. Bring card/cash to buy refreshments, and a spare innertube/tyre levers and pump just in case of a puncture.

A fully road-worthy bike is essential.
