A pleasant mostly off road route traveling the full length of the Middlewood Way which follows the line of the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway through picturesque Cheshire countryside and between the historic mill towns. A short stretch on road in Macclesfield then takes us to the town’s Treacle Market which on the last Sunday in October has a distinctive Halloween theme. After an optional refueling and treacle sampling we retrace our outward journey back to Marple on this predominately flat route.
