Please email [email protected] or phone/text to 07855 302 448 by 5pm on Saturday 22nd September if you'd like to borrow a bike. Adult bikes can be collected between 09:00 and 09:20 on the day. The bikes are free but you must bring photo id The minimum ability required for the ride is that you can ride independently and you have some experience in basic bike handling. Children (aged 16 and under) are welcome if they are Year 7 or older Confident cyclists who can manage the distance Accompanied by a parent or guardian  The full length ride takes about 60 minutes one way at a steady pace. Most of the route is along the Lea Valley waterway where there are no cars but there will be pedestrians, dog walkers and other cyclists.  Breeze ride leaders will be on hand to help along the way, especially if some riders need to go faster or slower. It’s a leisurely canal side route and the scenery includes painted barges, swans, geese and other more exotic birds, a variety of water sports, and brilliant modern architecture. Bring a non-fizzy drink with you. There will be a few free refreshments at Victoria Park and a cafe where you can buy more stuff. Best idea is to bring a packed lunch or a more substantial snack. We’ll take the same route back, aiming to arrive at Broadwater Farm between 1 and 1.30pm. If there is enough support and enthusiasm for a return by road, we might take some riders back that way as well.  If you wish to use one of our bikes, please bring photo id and join at the start in Broadwater Farm.
