Starting point

Outside the Community Centre, Broadwater Farm, Adams Road

Come and join us for a sunny, off-road ride along the Lea Valley canal to (almost) the Olympic Stadium this Sunday.  We will also stop off for a bit of Haringey heritage at the Markfield Beam Engine Museum http://www.mbeam.org/ who are having a vintage day which will almost certainly involve cake and a nice sit down!! Map Route (approximately 14 miles): http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5587276 Trax Lea Valley rides are leisurely rides for intermediate riders including those who have graduated from our beginners group. Girls aged 11 and up are welcome if accompanied by mum or guardian. For those who do not have their own equipment we have a good selection of ladies mountain bikes and helmets you may borrow for the ride. All our rides start or end at Broadwater Farm but you can join us (by prior arrangement) or leave anywhere along the route that suits you. Between 09.15 and 09.30 we conduct bike checks for comfort and safety.  If you are borrowing a Trax bike we ask you to turn up no later than 09.15 so we can allocate and check your bike. We set off promptly at 09.30! We advise you to wear a helmet but you can still ride even if you don’t have one. You should bring a non-fizzy drink and also a snack if you think you will need one. There are a number of cafes where we will stop for a break and refreshments. You are welcome to send us route ride suggestions, and we espcially like those that include local history sites or community events.
