Freedom Road, Broadwater Farm.

Come and join us for a sunny, woody, on- and off-road ride through leafy North London this Sunday.  We designed this ride with a mixture of terrains to get your adrenalin pumping and really wet your appetite for watching the Olympic women's road race Sunday afternoon. There are a few smallish rises which you are welcome to ride up if you are able to, but strolling to the top is perfectly cool too! Map Route clockwise (approximately 10 miles): http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5580864. Trax Lea Valley rides are leisurely rides for intermediate riders including those who have graduated from our beginners group. Girls aged 11 and up are welcome if accompanied by mum or guardian. For those who do not have their own equipment we have a good selection of ladies mountain bikes and helmets you may borrow for the ride. All our rides start or end at Broadwater Farm but you can join us (by prior arrangement) or leave anywhere along the route that suits you. Between 09.15 and 09.30 we conduct bike checks for comfort and safety.  If you are borrowing a Trax bike we ask you to turn up no later than 09.15 so we can allocate and check your bike. We set off promptly at 09.30! Due to the recent weather, Parkland Walk has an abundance of overhanging stinging plants so you may wish to wear/bring something to cover your legs. It’s best to wear layers of clothes so that you can add more or less depending on the weather. We advise you to wear a helmet but you can still ride even if you don’t have one. You should bring a non-fizzy drink and also a snack if you think you will need one. There are a number of cafes where we will stop for a break and refreshments. You are welcome to send us route ride suggestions, and we espcially like those that include local history sites or community events.
