Sale Water Park

An attractive route that follows the epic Trans Pennine Trail along the Mersey Valley, through Dainewell Woods, and across the eastern end of the Cheshire Plain to the charming village of Lymm. We return on road through quiet rural lanes, skirting Dunham Park, before a short urban stretch through Sale. It concludes along the recently opened Connect 2 route, the Bridgewater Way.  Surfaces vary from tarmac, through compacted shale to sand, so bikes with wide tyres are a sensible choice.  Please note it is essential that anybody arriving by car, parks at the lower car park only, as the water sports centre will not let us use any other car park. Please respect their wishes so we can continue to use this fantastic start point for rides. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.
