A circular route from our starting point from the car park at Aughton Village Hall we will head to Clieves Hill, then on towards Halsall, passed Martin Mere at Tarlscough, on to Holmeswood, Mere Brow, Banks (via Ralph's Wife's Lane!) and on to our cafe stop at The Woollen Pig at Crossens. Our return route is toward Southport via Blowick, Birkdale, Halsall, Asmall then to Aughton Park and back to our starting point at Town Green. This ride will be led by group member Jayne.

A 33 mile circular route mostly on hard surfaced roads from Town Green, Aughton that takes in some of the great cycling countryside of rural West Lancashire and out towards the coast at Southport.

The majority of the route is on hard surfaced main roads and suitable for most bikes.

We will take our refreshment break at The Woollen Pig Cafe at Crossens . This is a very scenic route in some excellent cycling countryside and there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. (It wouldn't be a CYCLE:St Helens ride without plenty of photos!)

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Don't forget some money for the cafe stop.

This is a very scenic route in some excellent cycling countryside and there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. We want everyone to enjoy this very friendly group ride so it will be at a pace to suit all riders in the group and to take account of the weather conditions (usually between 9-11 mph). We will never leave anyone behind and we want everyone to enjoy the ride!
