From our starting point at Town Green, Aughton the route heads out towards Bickerstaffe (and no doubt the obligatory photo outside the most photographed church in West Lancashire!) then on to the Rainford Bypass turning off and heading up to Kings Moss, through Crawford Village and on to our refreshment break at the lovely, bike friendly Bridge Farm Cafe at Rainford Junction. The return will be via the bypass and on to Westhead and Scarth Hill and back to our starting point at Town Green, Aughton. This ride will be led by group member Jayne.

A circular road route along the quiet lanes of West Lancashire and in and around Rainford.

The majority of the route is on hard surfaced main roads and established cycle paths so suitable for most bikes.

We will take our refreshment break at Bridge Farm Cafe at Rainford junction.

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Don't forget some money for the refreshment stop.

This is a very lovely, moderately hilly route in some excellent cycling countryside and there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. We want everyone to enjoy this very friendly group ride so it will be at a pace to suit all riders in the group and to take account of the weather and road conditions (usually between 9-11 mph). We will never leave anyone behind as we want everyone to enjoy the ride!
