Tour of Britain Stage 2 Spectator ride

Having reviewed the race and timings I'm now omitting the Gisburn part of the ride. I have revised the route below. This ride will take us to 2 locations to watch the tour pass by and the return to Colne for the finish. We'll be leaving Colne at 8am and there also be a meet point at the end of the Padiham bypass. Once we're grouped we'll head to the Nick of Pendle via Pendleton. This is where the Race really starts. We'll find a vantage point about 2/3rds up the hill so we can get a good view of the riders as they come up the hill. As soon as all the vehicles have passed we'll follow the race over the Nick of Pendle and we'll start to retrace our way back to Colne and to the bottom of Red Lane and the canal. This is a steep descent so the riders will be moving at pace as they take two bends and over the canal. Again, once all the vehicles have passed we'll set off for the finish in Colne, The return to Colne will be along the canal to Barrowford Road and back into Colne. As I live close to the the Town act, bikes can be locked up in my front garden.
