Day one of the Easi-Breeze inaugural two day Tour to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Starting from Easingwold Market place, we head east via Helperby, Cundall and Rainton, where we cross the A1. From then on through small villages to West Tanfield on the river Ure. Bit of gentle climbing rewarded by a coffee stop in Masham at Johnny Bagdads cafe, which does fantastic cakes.
We continue up the north side of Wensleydale on minor and quiet roads, before rejoining the main road just before Middleham. There is a good cafe here, but if our Masham cakes are still fuelling us we continue on up the Dale passing a farm shop on the main road, which is the second option for lunch.
After lunch we turn off the main road and head up Bishopdale which goes up very gradually at first, before the biggest climb of the day over Kidstones (or Cote du Kidstones for those who watched the Tour de France). This may require some pushing!!
From the top it is all downhill, first off the pass, then gently down Wharfedale where our overnight stop, baggage, dinner and drinks await!
