Route rating
(1) ReviewsRoad ride starting from East Markham, following quiet country roads to the Windmill at North Leverton (sells flour/oats souvenirs) continuing to Sturton le Steeple for a café/toilet stop at Reindeer Inn, carrying on to the Windmill at Tuxford (sells wide variety of products made at the windmill and is a café) - if you prefer to leave the café stop to the end, we can eat here instead.
This is a road ride, please only come along if you are confident at riding on roads, however, some of these roads are quiet. A road bike or a hybrid bike (with road tyres) is recommended for this ride, a mountain bike wouldn't be suitable.
Reindeer Inn at Sturton le Steeple - sells tea, coffee, snacks - approx. 10 miles in or The Windmill at Tuxford, but this is at the very end of the ride Please bring money/card with you to purchase drinks/snacks
Please wear comfortable clothing suited to the weather. It is recommended that you carry spare inner tubes, puncture repair kit and a multi tool, just in case you have any mechanical issues. Please check before the ride, that your bike is in a road worthy condition. It’s a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way. Please bring some money if you want to buy refreshments/cake at the café stop. Wearing a helmet is highly recommended, though not essential.
We never leave anyone behind
