SN6 8DU

Out of Shrivenham, following Longcot road to Shellingford, crossing A417 and on to Gainfield via Hatford. (watch out for Hobbitts!!) We cross the A420 and after Buckland, Gravity is in our favour for about 2 miles as we speed into Bampton, taking a left for Clanfield and our cinnamon bun stop. We then follow the flat road to Faringdon, changing down just as we approach the town. We cross the A420 again to pick up the mainly downhill stretch to Fernham, take a right and follow the road that we took on the way out to return to the Stocks, where any miscreants will be locked up till the next ride.

We are blessed that two local coffee stops provide these fantastic buns. This reasonably flat route will take us to one of them at about the 2/3rds way round mark.

We will be on country roads the whole time, crossing the A420 twice with appropriate care. All our rides are generally on quieter roads and sometimes on narrow lanes where we have to share the road with care. The road into Faringdon after the coffee stops has a short sharp sting but we'll all be in low gears as we encourage each other up.

We plan to stop at the very popular Blakes Kitchen in Clanfield so you can get you Cinnamon Bun Loyalty Card stamped

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, (GLOVES) and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments.

we welcome first timers, the expected average speed for this ride will be between 11 and 12 mph. If this is not for you then there will be other rides
