If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. This ride is part of a “Fell Care Day” organised by Friends of the Lake District. The ride is part of a day of learning about looking after our delicate National Park landscaping and exploring it’s beauty. Join us on this lovely ride from the picturesque village of Threlkeld to Keswick and back passing by Wescoe, the small hamlet of Brundholme along the way.  This ride makes the most of the beautiful quiet lanes in the area before we make our way back using the disused railway line which forms part of the spectacular Coast to Coast cycle route.  There will be plenty of time to take in the views and as a well-earned treat, have some refreshments in the Threlkeld Village Hall Tearoom at the end.  Please be aware there are some short but sharp hills on this route.
