Three Parks (Redcar)

The route will follow mainly cycle path’s, and a little bit of off road – taking in the Three Parks of Redcar (Locke Park, Kirkleatham and The Zetland Park). Starting outside The Stray Cafe, on the coast road of Redcar, we will then travel along the cycle path along the seafront towards our first Park – Locke Park, which has a beautiful lake, habitat to many local birds. The park also has a basket ball court – which if no-one is using, we could do some fun ‘Bikeability’ playground games’ - before setting off up to Kirkleatham Museum via the new college on Corporation Road, and West Dyke Road cycle path. Joining us on this cycle ride will give you the opportunity to feast your eyes on the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition, quoted as “a stunning display, organised by London's Natural History Museum and the BBC Wildlife Magazine, features more than 100 images.” If that hasn’t taken your breath away, we will then set off back down to Redcar, via the cycle path towards Marske and head off road a little, down past The Rugby Club and head towards the Zetland Park. The Zetland Park will be our last park of the day, where you can check out the Outdoor Green Gym before crossing the road, parking up the bikes, and grabbing a well deserved drink or bite to eat at The Stray Cafe.
