Starting from the main car park at the Witton Park Gym.
I've been asked if we can do a short ride in the afternoon of New Years Day. Starting a dry January it sounded good to me so I thought why not.
Some of you may know that both Vicky and myself mapped out a route just over 4 years ago and approached our local council for help in making the route become a reality. Four years on we're now at the stage of almost completing Blackburn & Darwens fantastic addition to the local cycling network, aptly named The Weavers Wheel. Keeping in with the Weavers Way and the general theme of the Weaving history of our town. We're both very proud to have been involved in the developing Wheel from the start.
The route itself showcases some of the finest areas our town has to offer. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what's on offer on our doorstep. Take a look at this link for further information

Time may be a factor today so we'll be riding as much of the Wheel as possible but should the light begin to beat us we will cut short on the day. Lights would be a good option for this ride.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Weavers Wheel is yet to be completed and there are still sections that are either under construction or awaiting development. On this note I'd recommend either a mountain bike or a hybrid, some sections may not yet suit a road bike.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible to bring in the cycling New Year in style.
Kev & Vicky
