About the route
A very scenic ride along the quieter side of Ullswater, from Pooley Bridge to Howtown and beyond into Martindale. It is mostly flat, with a short steep hill over into Martindale, where the deer may be rutting - an amazing sound. There may be an option for a drink at the hotel, although this closes for winter.
