This is a gravel ride at a steady pace in a loop over to Irlam and back to Bolton. We will travel over quiet paths where possible but do need to cross some busier roads to connect the route. We will travel over the Manchester ship canal on the Hulmes ferry which has been going since 1885 as an act of parliament. PLEASE NOTE You need to be able to carry your bike with assistance on and off the ferry and up 16 steps. We will of course help one another but it is unlikely to be suitable for the very heavy ebikes.
A gravel ride taking us along cycle paths, towpaths, roads, across a lock and a short trip on a ferry.
We will stop at a cafe in Flixton. Please bring cash or card for refreshments.
You must wear a helmet. Please bring spare inner tubes and a pump and be able to sort out a puncture.
