The Leggers Inn To Pugneys, Painthorpe and Newmillerdam

From The Leggers Inn we will start out along the Ossett Greenway to Horbury before heading down Green Lane to Pugneys.
There is a short steep section on the Ossett Greenway but ‘short’ is the keyword.
From Pugneys we will follow Slack Lane to Painthorpe and then Newmillerdam before returning through Horbury and Ossett.
Please be aware that there are quite a few hills along the way however nobody will be left behind

This Sunday’s ride will leave The Leggers Inn this ride travels along the traffic-free Ossett Greenway and then through Horbury, Green Lane, Pugneys, Painthorpe and Newmillerdam. This is a very pleasant ride but please do not underestimate it. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RIDE IS OPEN TO ADULTS, 18+ ONLY. The Met Office forecast for 10:00 Sunday is currently suggesting sunshine, a temperature of 17°C and light winds gusting to 5 mph. Please check the forecast for yourself on Sunday morning. Please be aware that this is not a guided ride and that each participant remains responsible for their own actions or omissions at all times.

This Sunday we will be travelling along a combination of greenways and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the road sections so riders will need to be confident in those situations. Mountain bikes, hybrids, e-bikes and gravel bikes are most suited to this ride.

There will be a toilet stop at Pugneys on the way out. We will also have refreshments possibly en route or at the end.

Helmets are mandatory on all Heavy Woollen Wheelers rides. Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding. Remember card/money for the refreshments.
