By Entrance to Centre, Holywell Community Centre, Chaffinch Lane, Tolpits Lane, Watford WD18 9QD
this route takes you through Harefield (the Hare) and Chorleywood (along Dog Kennel Lane, the Hound), two pretty Chilterns towns. In between, there’s some pleasant scenery, a stunning descent from Harefield down to cross the Grand Union Canal, Chorleywood Common and a beautiful return leg through woodland back to Watford. There are three short sections of bridal way path which are not particularly suitable for road racing bikes with skinny tyres.
