You have maybe read Maggie O'Farrell's book, or seen the Award winning film 'Hamnet'. Now is your chance to see some of the history behind the story for yourself. This steady 20-25 mile ride will start and end at Anne Hathaway's Cottage where Anne and William enjoyed their courtship. After the ride there is an opportunity to visit the cottage and its gardens (takes about half an hour) for free (a perk of having a Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust volunteer as your ride leader), followed by refreshments in the cafe opposite.

The ride will be at a steady pace and will take in some of the surrounding villages, including Wilmcote where Shakespeare's mother was brought up and where the kitchen floor in AH's cottage came from in the 1500's.

a 20-25 mile route ridden at a steady pace around Warwickshire villages, followed by a visit to Anne Hathaway's Cottage (free) and refreshments in the cafe.

If you are riding to the meet up point and staying for the tour, please remember to bring a lock for your bike (we can park them at the cafe) Also note that as many of the floorboards in the house are over 500 years old you will need a change of shoes if you are wearing cleats.(even MB cleats).
