A rare chance to cycle to Letchlade from Shrivenham and Highworth on a guided ride. Normally the Letchlade road does not lend itself to guided rides but the closure of Halfpenny bridge has dramatically reduced the traffic on that road. The bridge is however open to Cyclists and Pedestrians and means we can do a pleasant loop and take in Buscott Weir

we will be on country roads and lanes; there will some hills at the beginning and end of the ride to climb but we will take it easy and regroup when necessary. Sadly the road surface in places is not great but by keeping our eyes open and communicating well we will be ok

We have tea/coffee/cake in the Buscott Tea Room

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments. Although our bikes should be safe at the coffee stop you should consider bringing a lock
