Lyme Valley

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Heading out from Lyme Valley Stadium, this 13 mile route heads south out of Newcastle  towards Hargreaves Wood before turning east and heading out to Keele.  There is a natural stopping point after we have conquered the small climb up 3 mile lane to reach Keele, where we can have a bite to eat and chat to our fellow riders.  The route is then downhill back to the Velodrome making it ideal for anyone wanting to stretch their legs and get out of town.
