Railway Inn, Station Road, Glenfield

ROUTE CHANGE OWING TO PROBLEMS AT START VENUE. Apologies but there was a chap stalking me round the park last time I waited there so I have opted for a better lit meeting point for everyone's comfort and convenience. Meeting outside the Railway Inn on Station Road, Glenfield, we have a couple of options for safe, traffic free riding! Join us for a fun after-dark adventure, proving the early evening's don't need to put you off. We will then use Route 63 along the Ivanhoe Trail to Ratbyand back with the option for some quiet residential street riding at the far end if rider's are up for it. We may use Route 6 to cycle to the Rally and potentially to the National Space Centre with minimal on-road riding if the group want some more diversity. Road section is limited to the driveway for the Rally and a quiet side road. The side road is very short and you are welcome to walk this section. The total route is short, and tarmac making it suitable for all kinds of bikes though as pace will be slow you may struggle on a road bike. There are a couple of very short inclines (about 5metres long), and again riders may walk these if they struggle. The ride leader is also a coach so you're in good hands to build that confidence! Please note: we're riding after dark so you must bring lights please. If anyone would like a drink after we can certainly pop in the pub - it's cyclist friendly, but remember you'll need a lock if that's the case. Enquiries may be directed to [email protected] Initial route length: 4 miles Duration: up to 45 minutes
