Ok then folks, I’m back.
With the current Covid pandemic and my work situation I’ve had a bit of a time over the last few months but the time in Lockdown has really me time to alter a few things and I’m back doing Flab.
I really can’t wait to get back out there again.

So the 3 of us have decided to join forces and combine a 25, 50 and 75 mile route for the Flab sportive up North 2021. I’ve decided to lead the 50 miler so if you think you can manage this please do join us. This is the middle one and it has a few hills on this ride, one that at its highest is 10% but don’t panic as we always regroup at the top. Pace will be to suit all abilities on the day.

Elvaston Castle will be the meeting point but it opens at 9.00am, we really want to take the time take a few group photos beforehand as the other two rides will meet here and it would be fab to take picture of us together so we will probably set off at 9.15 on the day.

So we take a nice ride out to Willington, this stretch isn’t bad at all and will give you chance to warm your legs up a bit. From here we will head to Repton, Ticknall and take the Derby up Pistern Hill. This is a fairly long climb and at its highest will be at 10% so be prepared. From here we will make our way over to Willesley where we will take a cafe pit stop at Hicks Lodge.

After refuelling we will ride out and around Ashby De La Zouch and head over to Coleorton, Belton, Long Whatton, Kegworth, Sawley, Risley and back to where we stared at the castle car park.

Please make sure you have everything you need to change a puncture, money or card for the cafe, a helmet, appropriate clothing for what ever the weather chucks at us, this will be an all road ride so the correct bike, and a smile for the day.

Meeting by the pay station at the car park in Elvaston Castle at a 9.00am and be ready to take photos straight away so we can get off at 9.15. It is pay and display if you are coming in your car.

Really looking for to catching with you all on the day.
