THE BIG FAT BIKE RIDE ON'T ROAD/ DERBYSHIRE 25 MILER

With the Fat Lad At The Back, Big Fat Bike Ride Sportive being cancelled this year, FLAB Flampions are running local BIG FAT BIKE RIDE ON'T ROAD social rides on the date it would have happened. FLAB Social Rides Derbyshire, Leicestershire North West and Leicester South West joined forces to combine a 25, 50 and 75 mile route for the Flab sportive up North 2021. I'm going to lead the 25 miler so if you think you can manage this please do join us. Its not too evil a route, not to hilly and is quite a scenic route with some well worth views over the Trent Valley.

We'll all be starting at the beautiful Elvaston Castle and we will head out with the 50 and 75 milers and split off to do our route, stopping at the cafe at Mercia Marina on the way.(http://www.merciamarina.co.uk/ - apparently excellent bacon butties) and other coffee / pub stops if the group wants / needs. We will finish back at Elvaston Castle where the Ice Cream van and coffee van might be waiting for us in the car park. There is also a cafe in the castle courtyard (CAKE!!!!)

Pace will be to suit all abilities on the day.

We will meet at Elvaston Castle before 9.00am and be ready to ride straight away once we have everyone together, We’d really like to take the time take a few group photos beforehand as the other two rides will meet here and it would be fab to take picture of us together.

Please make sure you have everything you need to change a puncture, money or card for the cafe, a helmet, appropriate clothing for what ever the weather chucks at us, this will be an all road ride so the correct bike, and a smile for the day.

Helmets are a must, kit to change a tyre if you need to, money or card for the cafe stop, appropriate clothing for the day
