Just because the days are getting shorter, it doesn’t mean you have to stop cycling. Keep riding with our Autumn Series – now open for free booking. These rides are all about getting the best out of the season, perfect for getting out on your bike and warming up on a fresh autumn morning! As ‘challenging’ rides you can expect distances of twenty miles and above, usually with some hills thrown in along the way. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part, but you’ll need to be fairly fit. This ride is a must for anybody wanting to stretch their legs on the bike and really soak in the amazing views on offer around the Calder Valley.  The name of the ride gives you hint as to the nature of this ride but then again what ride in Yorkshire doesn’t take in a few hills!  Starting in Skircoat Green we make our way up the valley to Mount Tabor before some lovely descents down in to Luddenden and up the other valley side towards Norland and beyond.  From here we make our way to Scammonden and Stainland before heading back to the start point in Skircoat.  There will be plenty of stops along the way to have a breather, grab some refreshments and most of all, to take in the views.  That’s what bike ridings all about right! This ride uses part of National Cycle Network (NCN) routes 66, 68 and 69. To find out more about the NCN and other great places to cycle near you everyday, go to the Sustrans website (http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/national-cycle-network).
