Please read all the information below before booking on. Just because the days are getting shorter, it doesn’t mean you have to stop cycling. Keep riding with our Autumn Series – now open for free booking. These rides are all about getting the best out of the season, perfect for getting out on your bike and warming up on a fresh autumn morning! As ‘challenging’ rides you can expect distances of twenty miles and above, usually with some hills thrown in along the way. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part, but you’ll need to be fairly fit.   The group meets at Pier Head Ferry Terminal and boards the world famous "Ferry across the Mersey" to Seacombe to ride over 10 magnificent miles of traffic free coastal paths. At Seacombe we pick up the National Cycle Network 56 along the River Mersey shoreline through Wallasey. As the cycle around the head at New Brighton the Irish Sea will come into view and the picturesque views of the magnificent coast. It's traffic free all the way until we join the suburban roads outside of Sandhey.   It's not long until we re-join the NCN 568 for more traffic free cycle paths, heading south past the Wirral Country Park and along the coast until Parkgate, our most outward point and our proposed food stop. It's a straight return on quiet country lanes and cycle paths, through Poulton and meandering through the streets as we return to the Docks. There are plenty of stopping points on the way and a chance to admire the beautiful scenery.   Timings   The group will board the 10am ferry from Pier Head, so please meet with enough time to purchase a ticket if necessary but also to exchange the ticket for a boarding pass. The ferry will arrive at Seacombe at 1030am. Due to the nature of the ride and potential issues we cannot guarantee the exact time of the return ferry, however we expect the group to arrive for the ferry departing Seacombe at 1530pm and arriving at Pier Head at 1550pm. Ferries depart Seacombe at 30minutes past every hour so please be aware this.   Please note that a ferry ticket will need to be purchased prior to the start of the ride. The advice is to buy an ‘All Areas’ Saveaway ticket from a vendor. Conveniently there is a vendor at Pier Head Ferry Terminal, where the group will meet. This ticket can then be exchanged for a boarding pass at the ticket office.   Please copy and paste the following link for more information on a Saveaway ticket;   http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/Tickets/compare-tickets/Documents/Saveaway_2014.pdf   Please copy and paste the link for more information on available ticket booths.   http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/Tickets/buying-tickets/Pages/Places-to-Buy-Tickets.aspx?postcode=Ent&Area=liverpool   It is a superbly unique ride with spectacular views so come join us for the days event
