Just because the days are getting shorter, it doesn’t mean you have to stop cycling. Keep riding with our Autumn Series – now open for free booking. These rides are all about getting the best out of the season, perfect for getting out on your bike and warming up on a fresh autumn morning! As ‘challenging’ rides you can expect distances of twenty miles and above, usually with some hills thrown in along the way. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part, but you’ll need to be fairly fit. A rolling route through lovely countryside with only one significant climb.  The route starts by looping around the periphery of Aintree and then heading through rolling farmland passing the villages of Bickerstaffe and Rainford on route to Billinge.  There is a café stop at Fir Tree Farm on Pimbo Lane (popular stop with cyclists, even Bradley Wiggins has stopped here - according to the owners).  The only climb of the route is a sharp ascent of Billinge Hill, and this comes soon after the café stop, before a long descent through Billinge and back to Rainford.  The route then meanders through the countryside back to Kirkby.
