Tea & trains at Causey Arch

From Seaburn Metro station we join the National Cycle Route (NCR)7 and head West picking up more participants at Teal Farm Pub (NE38 8FB) before continuing along NCR7. At Stanley we leave NCR7 to join the A6076 to climb to Causey Arch tea room. After a cuppa & a sandwich we continue onto Tanfield railway track with a long steep decent on un-tarmaced track for over 3 mile passing by Sunniside, Lobley Hill, before crossing over the A1 to Teams. Here we turn east through Team Valley trading estate towards Birtley. We turn South East on NCR724 before re-joining NCR7 at Wheatsheaf pub; returning back towards Sunderland. NOTE - route subject to change! route may alter after Teams to continue onto Dunston, then into Gateshead centre, move along to Heworth, then Felling before joining Follingsby Lane. From Nissan complex we return to Washington then make our way back to Sunderland. NOTE - this ride is unsuitable for road bike or road tyres because of terrain from Sunniside.
