Meet by the ramp at the Littledown centre

Join us for a 7.5 mile circular route which take us from the Littledown towards Tuckon, along the prom and cliff-top, through Woodland Walk and into Kings Park, then back to the Littledown. You’ll cycle on the road, riverside gravel tracks, traffic-free cycle paths and the beach-front promenade. There are plenty of opportunities for cake stops along this predominately flat route. The route: Meet at the ramp to the Littledown entrance. We’ll cycle along the flat Castle Lane cycle path heading towards Iford, crossing at the pedestrian crossing, then riding along the gravel trail by the river Stour. Crossing the A35 at Iford Bridge we’ll head along Old Bridge Road and onto Iford Lane, reaching the busy Tuckton Road before crossing Tuckton Bridge with a potential tea-and-cake stop at after 2.5 miles at the Tuckton Tea rooms. Carrying on along the quiet and flat Wick Lane we’ll head for the end of the promenade, with another potential tea-and-cake stop 4 miles in at Bistro on the Beach. Then it’s a flat, traffic-free ride all the way to Fisherman’s Walk zig zag, where we can stop for tea and cake at the cliff top Café Riva, 5 miles into the ride. After a break we will cycle west along Boscombe Overcliffe Drive to Woodland Avenue, where we’ll head for Christchurch Road along the traffic-free Woodland Walk. Heading along Gloucester Road into Kings Park we’ll ride along the tarmac traffic-free route towards the road crossing at Harewood Avenue. Finally we’ll cycle (or push) up the hill though the traffic-free path to the back of the Littledown Centre, where our journey finishes.
