Tamworth Castle Canal Ride

We will be taking a nice pace along the traffic free paths around Pooley Park, through the woodland and down the canal towpath into Tamworth.  We will be stopping off for coffee in the Tamworth Castle Grounds and enjoy a well-earned slice of cake over looked by the historic Castle so bring some change.  Returning on the same route, we will head back towards Pooley Nature Park, and if feeling fit and enough in the tank, cycle the spiral path up the old spoil heap. Well worth the effort great views all around. This route is approx. 12 miles in total and this is mainly traffic free(just a minor road to cross) please bear in mind using the canal there are several turnpikes to move bikes through and require you to dismount.  Mountain or hybrids are best suited to this ride This ride is suited for ladies, who want to build up their confidence with riding skills and go a little further, but all are welcome and if you want to suggest any other rides I will be happy to accommodate.
