Taking it Easy to the Ice Cream Garden

Starting out from the car park at Barford Farm, home of Barford Farnhouse Ice Cream, we will take the flat-ish route along the country road towards Shapwick - a small village on the beautiful River Stour located at the southern end of the wonderful Cranborne Chase. Shapwick is five miles south east of Blandford Forum and eight miles north of Poole. We can stop at The Anchor Inn or take a look at St Bartholomew's Church which is situated just down the road from the acclaimed and popular pub. It has a Norman arch and a 14th century tower. Then we head back the way we came to the Ice Cream Garden at Barford Farm to enjoy a delicious ice cream or sorbet made right there on the farm - from Cow to Cone! Fantastic! Please bring enough money to have your cone right then as a reward for your ride and maybe take some ice cream home too. This is a short ride to get us in the swing of things and is perfect for a leisurely Sunday morning.  Before we get going on the ride we will take a few minutes to check over our bikes, our helmets and that we are all happy to ride on this country road. Your children are welcome to come along with you but please note that their behaviour is your responsibility and they must wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet is advisable for adults; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  Although this ride is for us ladies only - dads could wait at Barford Farm (or at The Anchor!) if they would like to be part of our sunny Sunday.
