Starting from - Meet up at Merthyr Tydfil Station at 9:31am. Take the following trains: From Cardiff Central @ 8:26 am £ 6:00 single or from Taffs Well at 8:44 am £ 3.60 single. There may be family concessions available. This is the first train of the day so there should be no problem getting the bikes on. CF10 1EP

Starting at Merthyr Railway Station, this ride follows the Taff Trail down to Cardiff. Generally downhill and mainly on cycle track. There is a short section on a quiet road right at the start, with another short section before Merthyr Vale (with a short but sharp climb!) and then two sections on the road through Pontypridd. Pontypridd is roughly the half way point and we can stop off there for coffee/cake, ice cream etc. The route down to Cardiff Castle is approximately 27.5 miles but can be shortened to 20 miles by starting/finishing at Taff Well Station Park and Ride.
