Swindon - The Oasis and Purtons Circular - 16 miler

If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. This lovely 16.1 mile figure of eight ride takes us through Swindon's central cycle network and out towards the meandering country lanes towards Purton and Purton Stoke.The ride begins at Oasis Leisure Centre and heads past the green of Moredon towards Mouldon Hill Country Park. From there we cycle east towards Lydiard, leaving the urban scenery behind for rural Wiltshire. It's a ride north through Purton and meandering on glorious country lanes to Purton Stoke where we can stop off for a refreshment. It's all return from here as we pass the Swindon and Crickdale Railway entering north Swindon. Passing by Mouldon Hill Country Park and returning to Oasis Leisure centre via the designated cycle network the route encompasses everything about urban and rural cycling.
