Sunny Sunday Social - Cycletta/Sportive training ride 1
Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

About the route
This is a first of a series of training rides, aiming to build up your stamina & strength.
A steady paced ride. The ride is on road, with some hills. Best suited to those confident to ride in traffic
From the Red Lion, Along Steynind Road (usually quiet at this time of day) to Upper Beeding, on to Fulking & Poynings.
We'll ride up Devils Dyke, challenging but take it nice & steady, you'll be fine. Don't worry if you feel the need to stop & take a breather , no one will get left behind.
From there on it's all downhill YAY!!!
We have to cross the A27 Flyover, then another lovely downhill, all the way to Brighton seafront, from there along the cycle route back to Shoreham.
.... If you live along the route feel free to leave at the most convinient point.

The ride is open to women only..but is being run alongside the regular Brighton Excelsior CC Sunday club ride, so don't be put off if you see a group of lycra clad roadies...they'll be heading the other way! It’s a good idea to bring some water, snack to keep you going and money for if we stop at a cafe. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider.
