Summer Solstice ride to the Rollright Stones

The Summer Solstice at the Rollright Stones is often celebrated as it falls on a Saturday, I felt it was an ideal opportunity to see what happens.

Starting at Condicote village hall we head out towards Donnington, Broadwell and then Daylesford (crossing the A 436). Then there is a climb up past Kingham Hill School until we reach the A436 again. We will join this for a short section to get to the Greedy Goose junction. We do a very short section on the A44 to get to a beautiful ridge road which heads towards the Rollright Stones. Here will we stop to celebrate the Summer Solstice and walk around the stones.
We retrace our steps but take a lovely descent down to Little Compton. We reach the A44 again, where there is a short section to reach the road that takes us to the bottom of Chastleton. We meander down until we reach the A44 again. We join the A44 for until the Four Shires stone. We can divert here to have a coffee stop in Moreton.
The cycle back is through Evenlode, Broadwell, Donnington and back to Condicote.

This ride has some climbs, descents, some lumpy bits and some flat bits too. There will be spectacular views.

We will ride along country lanes with a few short sections on busier roads.

Helmets are compulsory.
