Suffragette to Sculpture - Celebrate International Womens Day Ride

Starting at the Sun Inn pub car park in Morpeth (a stone's throw from the burial place of suffragette Emily Davison in St Mary's churchyard) we cycle south along roads and cycle paths towards Northumberlandia which is a sculpture in the form of a woman. Cyclists must be confident cycling on main roads as the first part of the route is the main road out of Morpeth and is only partially a dedicated cycle path. Once we reach the sculpture park we will have a quick stretch of our legs before we head back to Morpeth. Drinks and snacks may be bought in the pub at the end of the ride. The route is suitable for all types of bikes (as long as it is roadworthy!). Please check the weather forecast on the day and wear appropriate clothing for the ride. We advise you to wear a helmet and also bring with you a bike lock and any money should you require a drink or cake when we stop.
