Stratford to The Mickleton Cafe

I've changed from my previous route because the Barn Antiques cafe has shut! But 'Decades' cafe at Mickleton is open and I have contacted them; they are expecting us on the day (and I've been told the cakes are very good). The revised route is now all flat or nearly flat. It will be an easy paced ride, going out along the Greenway and quiet lanes and returning the same way. The ride will be ideal for those of you who have cycled a little and are ready to try a 17 mile route with some good company, and for anyone who wants to dust off that bike after some winter inactivity.

We start out from Stratford Green way car park, where the Greenway reaches Stratford (unfortunately there are car parking fees now). Look out for me in a red jacket, and other lady cyclists in assorted colours! The ride will be suitable for hybrids and road bikes (please note the Greenway is OK for road bikes at moderate pace but you may want put mudguards on, as it can be a bit gravelly/muddy in wet weather).

The main requirement is a road bike or hybrid bike in good working order (in particular please check that your brakes are working well, your tyres are pumped up to the correct pressure, and maybe check the chain too to see if it needs a little oil). A water bottle is a good idea, and please carry a spare inner tube, and a helmet is a recommended. Please bring a snack and a bit of cash for the coffee stop. A contact mobile number for you is very useful in case I have to send out any last minute texts, and please remember to include an emergency contact number too when you sign up.
