Starting point

Perthshire
PH1 5HT

This is a longer challenging ride beginning at the North Inch and heading on new roads for Perth Guided rides.

We will head out of Perth towards Scone Palace on the main A93 and then turn off past the race course and around through Stormontfield. This section goes up and down setting the tone for the rest of the route.
A short stretch back onto the A93 into Guildtown and up the Hill to Burrelton. It's then through the village and up through Campmuir on to some more rolling roads via Kinnochtry to Collace & Kinrossie. Then its across the A94 at Balbeggie and down through St Martins back to Guildtown. Then it's the reverse of the out leg via Stormontfield before back onto the A93 into Perth.

There wont be a coffee stop on the route but the plan is to head for a coffee once back in Perth.

Remember Helmets must be worn. Dress for the seasonal weather and bring everything you need to repair a puncture to your own bike. Working lights are also advisable.

Challenging rides
If you have built up your experience on a bike, have a good level of fitness, are confident with bike handling and feel happy riding generally, it sounds like you are ready for challenging rides. These rides enable you to progress your cycling: ride greater distances, at a faster pace, on busier roads.
Go further and faster and spend more time in the saddle.
Suitable for people with a good level of fitness and some group cycling experience.
Rides might be on busier roads, have steeper hills and fewer stops.
Be prepared to eat and drink during the ride.
Ideally you may find it helpful to attempt some steady rides first, to make sure you are ready for a challenging ride.
Café stops are often included in challenging rides, so there should be time to get your breath and eat. However, it will be helpful if you can eat and drink whilst pedalling and have food easily accessible in a back pocket and a bottle cage on your bike. These skills are not essential though; you can work on them whilst attending these rides.
