Starting point

Stirlingshire
FK7 7LD

Exploring our very city and catching views of some of Stirling's spectacular landmarks.

A nice gentle 10 mile loop with an option to stop at Dobbies (adding approximately 2 more miles). We will stick to all the cycle paths where this is available, occasionally having to use some roads. But these will be farm roads or quiet residential roads.

Starting on Millhall Road we will cross over the railway bridge where you will be able to spot Stirling castle in the distance. Then cycling along the quiet farm road we will head towards Kerse Road pass the Arnold Clark garage. From here we will cross at the traffic lights down onto Kersemill and make our way towards The Peak joining the cycle path that takes us past the Vue Cinema. Next we will head down through Riverside and cross the bridge over to Cambuskenneth. Riding along the quiet road we should get a glimpse of Wallace Monument. At Recyke-a-bike we take a left and come back towards the city centre following the cycle path to cross over the Old Stirling Bridge. Taking a right just after crossing over we will following the lovely cycle path that runs alongside the River Forth. Taking us out towards Forth Valley college, here there is the option to head to Dobbies for a cafe stop or carry on back round past the Riverhouse towards Stirling Castle. This will lead us into town past the Albert Hall. From here we continue cycling along to join onto Upper Craig’s and take the Craig’s roundabout underpass we make our way back to Braehead and back to the start point.

Optional cafe stop at Dobbies.

Utilising Stirling's cycle paths we will be making our way round the city cycling pass some of the iconic landmarks. We ride as fast as the slowest rider.

Helmets are advisable. And bring a bike lock if we do stop off at the cafe.
