Weekend Breeze rides are back! Join us on a ride on Saturday 24th. The ride will start on the cycle path in Hazelwell Park by the play area. We will follow the riverside cycle path to the canal then we will ride to the university on the towpath, then along the Bristol Rd blue cycling route (which is fantastic) to Cannon Hill Park. We will then return along the Rea Valley cycle path route. There is a very small amount of road riding on quiet roads but basically the route is traffic-free with opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors and the wonderful variety of scenery, including wildlife along the riverside path and on the towpath, plus the iconic buildings of the University of Birmingham.
The ride is ideal for new riders, nervous riders or those returning to cycling after a while. We ride at the pace of the slowest and no one gets left behind. The ride leaders are experienced and keen cyclists and love to share their knowledge and support with new riders so we offer a warm welcome to all. Breeze rides are women-only rides.
The route is mainly flat and any bike is suitable.
Please wear a helmet and gloves, make sure your bike is roadworthy with tyres pumped up and the chain is oiled and bring a spare inner tube, a pump and tyre levers. It is a good idea to bring a drink and a small snack.
If you have any questions about the ride please message me.
Please note the postcode is for Ripple Road next to the park.
