PLEASE READ ALL BELOW
This ride is for advanced riders 13 mph average, for 60 miles, mostly quiet road or cycle path, best done with skinny road tires no NOBBLY mountain tyres.
The route is an extended version of my Mitford Castle, reversed, is only 1800 feet over 60 miles with the climb to Throckley out the way you got 2 thirds riding downhill or flat from Ponteland with a couple of short ramps on route, hopefully taking advantage of any wind along the new Morpeth Bypass Cycle Path, heading east, so it will be fairly fast ride, there's a couple of hill climbs in the first half, then we stop at Old Ash Dene pub, Ashington, approx 30 miles out, a bit further than usual for a rest stop, so eat and drink plenty on route, especially after the first hour.
There will be mini catch up's of only about 2 mins or warn of any danger points.
I don't want to drop or lose anybody, so make sure you can do average speed 13 mph for 60 miles.
For the safety and enjoyment of all riders
Do not pass leader unless you know turns and bends ahead, or your on your own, as I will be sticking to the planned route.
Please be aware of the route for your own piece of mind.
Check your bike is roadworthy and tire pressure correct (makes big difference to your efforts).
Please shout back any warnings given (bollards etc.)
Bring helmet, tools, 2 tubes, waterproofs (even in good weather) and lights for your bike
