Steady-paced 100k Ride to Doncaster for Festive Frolics, and Then Back to Sheffield

Due to weather forecasters predicting this coming Sunday, 20th December, will be the hottest day since records began for this time of year in my part of the world (with Doncaster forecast to be the hot-spot in Sheffield City Region), I’ve decided to organise a steady-paced, red-hot 100k from Sheffield to the Woo Woo Wheelers’ festive frolics at the House Martin public house, Doncaster, and then back. Should the local water disagree with you, there’s also the option to shorten the ride to 50k and return to Sheffield by train. There’s also the opportunity to cycle from the pub at 2pm. You could even just attend the meal. There might be rain as we ride through Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham. There might be mud and puddling on the trail, too. There might even be red-hot cyclists basking in tackling a challenging ride so near to the holidays. Your efforts should be rewarded with an amazing carvery at the House Martin public house. We might even have time to stop for a long comfort break at Old Moor. Due to the expectation that the popular pub might be busy this Sunday, please leave a message if you require a place at our tables for a meal. It should be a great ride for cyclocross, hybrids and mountain bikes. Due to winter tyres and mud on the trail, we will travel at a steady pace of around 9mph, I think.
