About the route
We will head out from Mawdesley Village Hall towards Formby for food, cake and a brew at the wonderful Cafe 48. We will pass through Hoscar, Edge Hill, Aughton and The Alctars before hitting the small town of Formby. After lunch we will head out to view the Gormley Statues at Crosby before turning home.
The full round trip will be in the region of 55 miles but anyone wishing to return sooner will have the option of returning to Burscough Bridge via train from Formby, Hightown or Crosby stations. This involves one change at Southport and takes about 45 minutes including the change, costing £5.60 (from Formby) per person including your bike.
